I'm Dr. Suzanne Shalet, born in Philadelphia, Penna. My secondary education at the Villanova University in an intense science curriculum after my graduation  I was employed at Roselawn Farms, in Chester County Penna., under the direction of one of the Best Licensed Trainers/Horsemen on the East Coast ( Mr. Hunter L. King ) where I galloped race horses and monitored the local Fox Hunt competitions. At the same time I successfully managed the Roselawn Farms Equine Swimming Pool for the rehabilitation of horses from the racetrack with various lameness in order to gain their full fitness.

After 20 years in equine industry I returned to school to acquire my undergrad degree from Randolph-Macon Women's College where I decided to peruse the Veterinary Field. Being a resident of Pennsylvania, the only school to consider for its reputation and excellence was "The University Of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine", where I graduated in 1999.

Immediately after graduations I obtained a full time positions with Dr. Kathleen Anderson ( which now is the President of the American Association Of Equine Practitioners ) in her practice at "Fair Hill Training Center" as a veterinarian. Fair Hill Training Center is a large private training for Thoroughbred race horses housing with some of the best in the world., along with the top trainers. Here I, enjoyed the opportunity to see a large number of horse every day and refine radiology, ultrasound and intra-articular injection skill, just to name a few of my opportunities for me to demonstrate and hone my skill. Fair Hill Training Center was located in Newark, Delaware where Breeders Cup Winners & Kentucky Derby Winners resided and trained where ideal conditions were available.

In the year of '2000 I moved my ambulatory equine practice to Southwestern Virginia (Bedford County & surrounding areas). And we have " All Around Equine Veterinary Care" where I deal one on one with the client and their horse/horses needed such as wellness, advisory, schedule routine medications, nutritional and emergency. Reproduction breeding programs, surgery, dentistry with great emphasis in the field ophthalmology, lames diagnostics and treatments and purchased examinations. My practice is equipped with the State of the Arts equipment to enhance her ability to diagnose and treat your animal.
